今年新的 ACM Fellows 名單出爐了。理論學者有 8 人上榜，其中有兩人我完全沒聽過，Phil Klein 和 Subhash Suri。

有幾位 Google 的研究人員也名列榮登 ACM Fellows，Dr. S. Muthukrishnan 是 TCS 領域比較熟悉的學者。

有幾位跟生物資訊比較有關的學者也獲選。

Pavel Pevzner - University of California, San Diego

For contributions to algorithms for genome rearrangements, DNA sequencing, and proteomics

蠻意外的是，Pevzner 竟然比 Jiang Tao 還晚被選上。

Lydia Kavraki - Rice University

For contributions to robotic motion planning and its application to computational biology

主要是做蛋白質結構或者生化作用的模擬。

Fernando Pereira - Google Inc.

For contributions to machine-learning models of natural language and biological sequences

其實主要是應用機械學習用在 text mining 生物文獻的方面上。
